chamfered dodecahedron in LEGO™

 For our paper on LEGO polyhedra, I built a chamfered dodecahedron (also known as a truncated rhombic triacontahedron) . It consists of 30 hexagons and 12 pentagons. It is a Goldberg polyhedron.

There is a band of hexagons along the equator of the model. It is possible to strip the hexagons on top of this band to form a hemispherical model.

This shape cannot be modeled using Polydron or Zometool.

  For our  paper  on LEGO polyhedra, Jin Yamauchi built a truncated icosahedron.
